Growing up in the country and working with uncles that farmed for a living, I was introduced to hunting at an early age. I shot my first deer at age 14 and was hooked for life. After high school I went to Lubbock, Texas, and received a bachelor’s degree in range, wildlife, and fisheries at Texas Tech University. I then went on to get my master’s degree in wildlife management at Texas A&M University at Kingsville, Texas, studying white-winged dove. Currently I run our ranch and 2 others.
My wife Tammy had always been interested in teaching young children. She began her college career at Howard Payne University in Brownwood, but received her bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education at Texas Tech University. She currently is a Pre-K teacher.
We have two children: Laurel Kate who is 22, and Hunter Cole who is 19 as of August 2023. Our oldest is graduated from college and now married.
